The world first Three Dimensional handheld games console, what’s more you don’t even need to wear glasses to see the 3D. That’s right Nintendo’s newest addition to its handheld gaming franchise offers the 3D we all love without the glasses we all hate. Well it’s time to view the Specifications.
Let’s take it from the top
At only 3.5” on the top and 3” on the bottom the 3DS hardly wins gold for biggest portable screen. But that’s not such a bad thing because Nintendo didn’t waste time making the screen a record breaker it means that the Nintendo 3DS fits happily in your pocket (or case) and you can actually carry it around with you wherever you go.
The Camera
Well yes the cameras are ONLY 0.3mp but that doesn’t really matter, you’re not going to be taking pictures for billboards on your 3DS. The main attraction to the 3DS cameras lays in the fact that the camera can take 3D pictures. Yes you read that right Three Dimensional Pictures. Although I haven’t seen that yet I’m sure it looks brilliant is probably a main selling point for the 3DS.
How does the 3D work?
This isn’t my area of expertise but having done a little research I’ve come up with the following
- The screen displayed two difference images to each eye
- Each eye get about 400px each
- This ticks your brain into perceiving depth
This does make sense as if you tilt the 3DS or close one eye then the image stops being 3D or starts to distort.
Should I buy it?
Definitely for me the chance to take 3D pictures and play 3D games without having to wear cumbersome (sometimes painful) 3D glasses make the Nintendo 3DS a certain buy.
Thanks for reading
Stephen
